Last week, my lovely friend Caroline took me to the launch of a sweet little boutique she'd discovered in the heart of Dublin's up-market shopping district, just off Grafton Street. Set up by a Californian in Dublin, American Honey is a glamorous little slice of sticky sweet state-side pie, with an all white interior and chandelier playing sumptuous, girlie backdrop to a broad range of garments and accessories with a sexy, slightly sporty edge the Yanks do best. There were lovely knits and leathers, beachy brights and fetish-tastic heels from Jeffrey Campbell. On two levels, it is a must for those who want something off the beaten track in a quarter stuffed with the high street and high end big brands. It was a lovely evening for the party, just when the weather turned the corner into summer, and the bubbly and canapés were dished out generously. With a strong brand image and cosily curated boutique, the shop looks set to do extremely well with those who can meet the price tag.
