Street Style | Misha B
Last weekend or so, I went street style snappin' on Brick Lane, azyerdo, and caught that Misha B off of the X Factor. She is hella tiny in real life! The platform creepers are a smart move. Apparently her dress is good old Topperz, all the rest is vintage and custom by her stylist. Natch! She was waiting on her car and being a proper sleb and that, so the shades were on. Lovin' it, hot mess!
What I Wore | London Fashion Week
The lovely Bradley Chippington took these Tommy Ton-style pictures of me at London Fashion Week. The light was lovely that day and the pretty townhouses around the Stand area make the a great backdrop for this kind of shot. He is an awesome up-and-coming photographer who I met during the week, check out his work here. He has some brilliant shots that make up the kind of people watching experience you get at fashion week, and I notice he was outside the Topshop space in Bloomsbury Square last season, a spot I also got to enjoy with great photographic results.
This was probably my most outlandish outfit I wore during the week, a snakeskin print jumpsuit with leopard coat. In previous years, London Fashion Week has always been a bit of an opportunity to dazzle, get decked out in some crazy ensemble I'd never dare wear normally.
I remember one get up when I first ever came to fashion week aged 19 with no show invites and just a whole bunch of attitude - I wore zebra print leggings and a matching body with my peroxide mane and hi-top Nikes in black, white and pink. I remember getting spotted to model or something, before they worked out if I was living in Paris there wasn't a whole lot I could do! Still, made my day, natch.
Anyway, fast forward a few years and fashion week is awash with fashion bloggers posing for the cameras and blagging into shows. Ugh! My turf has been invaded. Don't get me wrong, fair play. But it hasn't taken me long working in the industry to work out that anyone who's anyone dresses with style, not fashion; that its the albeit super-brave art school kids who come in with homemade costumes. I am not downing them at all - they look amazing and are one of the most entertaining aspects of the week. But in the interests of being taken seriously in networking during the week, I have got pretty sleek in my old age, and pared it down something shocking.
So back to this outfit: I mixed up my animal prints but otherwise kept the colour palette hella tight. The cosy scarf is the softest mohair, from my friends in South Africa, Heritage Weavers. Those shoes are the perfect height for strutting without being too uncomfortable. Another fashion myth is that you have to wear heels all the time. Again, it's a take or leave it thing, but there's definitely a faction of the fashion massive who eschew the heels-as-gospel thing and look awesome everyday in flats. Those girls are usually the ones who can make any old men's jumper look cool too, I like to think I'm in that gang.

Celebs at Topshop Unique SS13: Shameless Star Gazing
It all started with seeing Olivia Palermo finishing her phone conversation in peace before strutting the paparazzi scrum outside the Topshop Unique marquee in Bedford Square...... Just one all-American fashionista hiding behind a 4x4 in London town.
Next, it was fashion royalty Anna Dello Russo through to new popstar-turned-credential-fashion-kid Nicola Roberts, she of newfound fashion TV fame, and new-popstar-as-credential-fashion-girl Delilah, who models Topshop's wares in their Autum Winter magazine, all comin out of the show. Daisy Lowe had her back to us when we snapped her, and Natalie Massanet of Net a Porter ran in too quick for any photo at all, but it has to be said, the FRow is something of a higlight at Topshop's show. Not so much a directional season shaper as grand publicity exercise, the Unique show offers a good old A-list filled event on the bi-annual agenda and if anything, solidifies the idea of Phillip Green's empire as inextricably linked with the what's next and now. His daughter Chloe, the shoe designer if you will, was their too, natch.
London Fashion Week SS13: Saturday
With the sun amped up to 30 degrees, the fash pack replete with shades and sandals of various glittery types and the catwalks showing off summer collections, you'd be forgiven to think London Fashion Week was a season behind, clinging on to the last days of summer, not nearly a year ahead. But, as with the knowing 90s nods of camo, flatforms and the now ubiquitous round shades, we all know that's not the case.
Somerset House was, as usual, awash with fashion kids and industry insiders with more taste than you can shake a stick at.
With the sun beaming widely on all (a little too enthusiastically perhaps), it was a happy mood in the courtyards, and ripe pickings for seeing and being seen. As well as spotting some brilliantly dressed fashion birds of paradise, from London stylists to students from the sticks to designers and buyers and models, everyone who's anyone was passing through. My friend Emma and I kicked off our day with a good dose of fash pack gazing before heading to some shows. Highlight of my day? Telegraph fashion editor and all-round fairy godmother of fashion Hilary Alexander tweeting a picture of me in my new ChouChou hood!
