electric dresser @ Freaky Freaky, Glasgow

Check out this chick's slick vintage twist to the classic cut offs combo. What's brilliant about this is the fact that her Granny made her this only a few weeks ago. Gurl got style! Love. Check out her Nineties club kid friends in the background too.

What I Wore @ A Stroll in the East

It's a beautiful sunny day today and my lovely sister Sinéad took me for brunch in a wee café near me, just by Victoria Park. I opted for a super-chilled outfit of silk bomber and leopard print sandals with my fave old Gaga tee and furry bag. Oh, and because I wanna blend in with the East Enderz - hipster specs and cut-offs. Obvz.

What I Wore: Night Out @ the Pavillion, Belfast

Last weekend, I went back to Ireland for the weekend. I thought I'd be heading back there quite a bit this summer, but me and the man friend of Girls Names fame have called it a day, so turns out it was the farewell trip.

On Saturday night we headed out to the Pavillion where his mate was throwing a party. Gemma and Kim were DJing and we had an awesome night of booze and boogies. This is what I wore, and here are a few snaps from the night. The jacket is hand knit by my mum, from a book of patterns I found by RCA fashion students, and the tee is from this year's New Gen collection by Topshop. The quiff? Learned to do that bad lad at the Beauty Bootcamp in Dublin....

[Electric Dresser] Caroline

South Anne Street, Dublin
Last week I went to the opening of new boutique in Dublin, American Honey, with my lovely friend Caroline. I loved her smart but relaxed summer style - sturdy strappy sandals and tribal print pants concding to the sudden surge in temperature, but all kept slick with her simple monochrome top half - black jacket and white tee. The flowing tresses, natural make-up, satchel bag and Wayfarer style shades seal this knowing summer city girl look.

[Electric Dresser] Roisin

St Stephen's Green, Dublin
So I told you all about the Olsen Press Launch last week; here is what my lovely blogger-slash-journo friend Roisin was wearing. I love her mix of black textures, from the sparkly tweed trophy jacket to graphic lacy maxi to leathery bag and booties. It has been kinda chilly here in Ireland for the time of year, and Roisin perfects trans-seasonal chic. Her ballsy use of costume jewellery (pile 'em high!), bright lip and dip dye barnett perfects the look with interesting twists.

[Electric Dresser] Aine

Twisted Pepper, Dublin
Aine had by far the coolest reaction I've ever seen to asking to be photographed for my blog! She was not surprised in the least, and to be fair, she didn't have to be. I love her quilted bomber with the chain print, and her wee studded shoes look sassy yet comfy - her black and red palette works perfectly with the bleach blonde razor sharp fringe cut. Its a punky look in soft fabrics.

[Electric Dresser] Eimear

Abbey Street, Dublin
I saw Eimear buzzing around the Twisted Pepper last Saturday at the Record Store Day, obviously one of the crew hard at work. I loved her quirky, easy look of sailor tee, white pumps and denim cut-offs, a simple but stylish combo to run around in. Nothing says summer better than nautical classics, although her super-short shorts and bobble hat are a fun take on things. The gold chain is all it takes to bring it all together. She was super sweet too, giving us guest-list in her PR and promo capacity....

[Electric Dresser] Paula

Abbey Street, Dublin
Paula's decadent fur collar immediately caught my eye outside the Twisted Pepper on Saturday, and I was delighted to see it was an addition to a vintage army jacket. I love the mix of classic rock chick textures and shapes - black denim, suede ankle boots, camouflage, leather and fur. Its a great ensemble for a day at the Pepper - comfortable but chic for hanging out stage-side or at the bar.

[Electric Dresser] Katy

Abbey Street, Dublin
At the Twisted Pepper's Record Store Day on Saturday, I spotted a few cool music chicks who obviously know a thing or two when it comes to clothes. What caught my eye about what Katy wears, aside from the cute little hat that makes for a soft frame around her face, was her bold use of print in her tweed coat, multi-coloured dress and two-tone trainers. Kooky as it is, she makes it work with the punches of black on her coat, hat and tights, while the simple bag with a flash of bright lightens the mood for spring and plays right in tempo with the colours in the dress. And for all the nods to high fashion in the minimalist bag and oh-so-now leather sleeves, the trainers keep it sweet for a day date at a music gig. 5 star stuff.

[Electric Dresser] Festival Style

So there is a tiny chance I might be going to a major European festival this year, although seeing as it's not confirmed I'm not announcing anything yet, only getting excited about what I might wear! Of course, my cousins Rena and Paul hold Electric Barn every year, a super little boutique festival near Newcastle, so my name is down for at least one melting pot of mud, mayhem and music for the summer. But for a second, I am fantasizing about getting glammed up in over-zero temperatures....

Now having spent a weekend or two in Belfast with a certain pal of mine Carl, I have come to realise the full impact of my dressing too tastefully for office consumption. There is a time and a place for that, and to be frank, being as trashy as possible has always been my first love when having fun. I had just forgotten of late.

So, the following images bear some resemblance to this newly rediscovered love of fishnet, flesh and kohl by the kilo. Coachella 2012; forget the girly, wafty, benign offerings of Emma Watson et al., (you can see a full gallery of the best dressed on Vogue's website). I was most taken in by the bitches who dared to bare with the trash and pinazz of what I believe constitutes electric dressing....

Kate Bosworth stood out from the hyper-glam LA-styled set at the Mulberry party in her tiger tee, tiny cut-offs and hi-tops. All were made by the guys hosting the party, but still - props for the if not somewhat glossed-over trash factor.

Azealia Banks looked mighty trashed-up, although a little shy, as gypsy woman Florence Welsh leads her somewhere or other by the hand, in a punky coloured faux fur coat and heavy metal boots, balanced out with a super sexy flash of thigh. To be honest this definitely looks to be a look ripe for replication under stony British skies. She looked much less coy in her stripy ensemble on stage later - smart move by here working a bold print that will be seen for miles as you prance about on stage. Even for a punter, though, you'd be hard pressed getting lost in a crowd running around in this, and its certainly a comfy look to get melted in.
